Usability Testing and Reflection
Planning and Conducting Usability Testing
For the usability testing, I selected six educators to evaluate the modules I created for my course. All six are from the same district and include two science teachers, one math teacher, one English teacher and two CTE teachers. The teachers were given one and a half weeks to test the five modules using Google Classroom to give them time.

Instructions
After school, I gave the five educators the purpose of my innovation plan. In the tutorial, I also gave instructions that included:
-
Google Classroom Code
-
How to review the material
-
How to access the short usability survey after going through the course.
The survey contains 12 Likert-scale items (Strongly Disagree → Strongly Agree) and 3 open‑ended questions. After collecting responses, I will compile the results for my instructor while omitting names to protect FERPA/HIPAA privacy. I will summarize key themes and provide recommendations based on the findings.

What Worked:
-
Course is organized
-
Course material is meaningful to creating the e-Portfolio.
-
Examples of e-Portfolio is related directly to the course objective.
-
Having step by step instructions.

What Didn't Work:
-
Flip portions of lectures (prework videos + in‑class active problem solving), incorporate think‑pair‑share and clicker questions, and use short in‑class assessments.
-
The instructor could use structured prompts, role assignments, and instructor summaries to increase depth and keep peer discussions focused and productive.
-
The design could be improved by increasing the types of media used to provide content and context.

Suggestions for Improvement:
-
After major labs or case activities, require a 5‑minute reflection on what went well, what was confusing, and one action step.

Final Reflection:

By completing this assignment, I was able to receive valuable feedback from educators currently in the classroom, which helped me understand what I need to improve in the material I provide to my stakeholders. Their insights gave me a clearer perspective on how my work is interpreted and applied in real instructional settings. I also gained a better understanding of where my strengths lie and where I can continue to grow. Overall, this experience strengthened my ability to create materials that are both effective and aligned with the needs of those who will use them.
