Using an ePortfilio would help me grow as a professional by opening new opportunities to the new world of technology. Technology is constantly growing as each day goes. As each passing day goes on, it gets more important to learn how to use technology even if it's just the basics of knowing how to use it. ePortfolios is just the perfect way to introduce technology to anyone. They are easy to use and an individual can get so creative with how they want it to look. Having an ePortfolio would help me to create new and creative ideas to be incorporated in my own classroom. This will allow my students to be creative in their own work and to help them learn as they go. "E-portfolios provide a rich resource for both students and faculty to learn about achievement of important outcomes over time, make
connections among disparate parts of the curriculum, gain insights leading to improvement, and
develop identities as learners or as facilitators of learning" (Rochestor n.d.).
Having an ePortfolio in the classroom setting would be so beneficial for our current and future students. As said above, this will help mold our students to be creative and also make themselves accountable for their own learning. It will pave the way of our future generations to be more responsible for their learning and to help them grow as individuals in our community. Creating ePortfolios can also be a way to track our students on their progress and how they're learning. This will allow the teacher to do pull outs while the other students are creating their ePortfolio. In most cases educators use portfolio's for generating new or deeper learning while others view them as an assessment tool (Missourri Online 2022).
The ePortfolio can benefit myself as an educator by keeping myself accountable for my own learning and to also make sure that I am up to date with the new technology that is being introduced daily. ePortfolio's can be a way to keep track of all of my students and how they are progressing with each content that is being taught. As said above, it'll allow me to do pull outs for those who are not understanding the content that is being taught.
