Frustrations and Joy in a Blogger

Creating a new google site or even becoming a new blogger can we be such a terrifying feeling especially if you don't know where to start. That is me. I am terrified. This is my very first time creating a new site and blogging my feelings in general. In the first week of class, we were required to get into discussions groups for both of Dr. J's class. When I tell you that I was blessed, I WAS BLESSED. My group members are absolute angels, and we honestly became more like family. They helped me to find Wix to create my website and to create my blogs. 

            One of the biggest tips of starting a new site or blog is to do RESEARCH. Questions you would need to ask yourself is, “Which website would be best for me? I want to try something new, let me do research.” These questions will help a new person to technology on how to create a website or blog. The steps I took to create my website is by first asking my group members on the basics of creating a website. They then continued to tell that there are tutorial videos from Wix itself. By watching the tutorial videos, it really helped me get a grasp of the website. The videos showed me what features are available for creating a website. Since I am a very visual person I asked my group member Angela for some guidance. I even went to Angela’s school, which is literally across from mine and had a 1:1 tutorial. Angela is very knowledgeable, and she really helped me out. Once she showed me the basics, I started to play around with its features, and I became more creative with my website.

For the blogger’s aspect, I follow some bloggers and looked at what their work. What really helped me is to create my blogs is first of course looking at the questions that is being asked for the blog of the week. Having questions as guidance is such a big help to help me to form my thoughts and ideas about the topic. Now when it comes to starting a blog from scratch, I would think of things that are first bothering you about what is happening around you in technology We all have frustration, and we all have thoughts that are in our heads. Why not share it? Somewhere out in the world, there is one person who will agree with you and have the same ideas that you have. Obviously, there will be a crowd who will disagree, but it helps because it helps to create new ideas. It might take a while to get the answer, but eventually a mutual decision will be made for the future

Some frustrations I have about creating a site or blog is the limitations we have depending on what program you are using. The saying, “time is money” is such a real factor to consider when choosing your program. Also, technology is changing every day to where it’s hard to get up to date with the new updates that are being offered. It’s sometimes even intimidating to want to even try to use a new program because we are we have a closed mindset to stick with what we are comfortable with. Starting this program has really helped me to having a growth mindset with trying new technology in this class. I am so used to using google sites, but when my group members told me about Wix and its features, I knew for sure that I had to try the new program. I am proud of myself for trying a new program, and even though I am still at the beginning of creating my website, I can feel myself growing in the world of technology and even as a person. I can finally tell myself that I am not basic and how I am helping other people with their websites as well. I have learned to have more of a growth mindset rather than being fixed. I am also proud to say that I am being more creative with me work rather than just doing the minimum of what is expected for each assignment that I am turning in. I am so excited to see what my website will look like by the time I graduate with my master’s degree. This by far is becoming one of my favorite classes from this program, and I can’t wait to learn the new lessons that will be offered in my future classes.
