What's Your Why?

Why?
The Purpose
We believe in creating e-Portfolios at the start of the year and continuously adding to them as each topic is taught. This approach will help students review and retain the information throughout the year.
How?
The Process
By creating a Google Site, students will have the opportunity to be creative and take ownership of their learning as they build their own site.

What?
The Result
We prepare our students to take accountability for their learning by fostering critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and encouraging creativity as they engage in the classroom.

Empower Growth
When reflecting on our "Why" statement, we believe that students should take responsibility for their work and learning as each topic is taught. In considering our "How" statement, we believe in using technology to create e-Portfolios through Google Sites, which not only enhances students' tech skills but also fosters creativity in the process. Regarding our "What" statement, we expect to see significant improvements in critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity as students learn and engage with various topics throughout the year.

Kotter (2011) stated that people respond to changes more positively when emotional appeals are used instead of logical arguments. By introducing the e-Portfolio into the classroom, it will help guide the future generations to be creative and passionate about the work they design. Without emotions and feelings, basic work will get done. By motivating and encouraging our students how creative they can be, once they start using and connecting to their heart.
